The Littlest Pumpkin

Nolan's class put on a sweet play on Halloween called The Littlest Pumpkin. Nolan played a trick or treater. His costume is the same one he wore later that night to trick or treat in. He was Captain America! I have the play on video as well so when I get a chance, I will attach it as well. It was such a sweet little play, and Nolan and his friends did a great job! We are so thankful for his wonderful teachers, Mrs. Parsons and Mrs. Pruski

Happy Halloween!

We had a great Halloween doing the usual traditions....carving pumpkins and trick or treating. Unfortunately, Steve also broke his ankle on Halloween playing volleyball so trick or treating was a little bit different than usual. I took Nolan out and Steve and the older boys stayed home and passed out candy. Thankfully Steve's ankle did not require surgery....only crutches and a boot....but it is never fun when Daddy is hurt. :(

I just realized that we have no pictures of Nolan trick or treating in his Halloween costume. I need to do a little searching. I know that he will be in his costume in the next post for his school play, but surely I took a picture on actual Halloween night....I sure hope I did! 

Trip to the Bayou

In October, we took a trip to Gonzales, LA to visit Robert and Cori. Cori is a very good friend of mine and she and Robert recently married....in January 2011. In fact, at the wedding, Cori said to Steve and I, "Tag you're it..." They moved to Louisiana where Robert's job was and we decided to take the boys out for a visit. We had a great time...we watched a lot of football....it was a great football weekend for all of us....Vanderbilt (my alma mater) won, LSU (Robert's alma mater) won, and Texas Tech (Steve's alma mater) miraculously pulled off a huge upset and beat OU! It was fun for all of us! We also played some Uno, ate some great food (the boys tried alligator for the first time) and we went on a swamp tour. The highlight of the swamp tour was getting to hold the live baby alligator! Cori had been on two previous tours and was too scared to hold it. However, I think the fact that Nolan who was 6 held it made her brave and she did it for the first time. Logan refused to hold the cute little thing. Happily, we learned this month that Cori and Robert are moving back to Houston! We are so excited to have them back!

Braden's 10th Birthday Party

We had planned to celebrate Braden's birthday in July. However, we discovered quickly that many people are out of town in July. So we decided to wait until after school started to celebrate. We had a great time with some of his best buds at Shankz, a black light putt putt golf course. I think a great time was had by all, and Braden got some great gifts. As you can tell from the pictures, Braden is quite popular with the girls...we might have to keep an eye on him. Thankfully these are some GREAT girls and we can only pray that they will continue to be good friends. Happy Birthday, Braden!
