End of Season Swim Party

As is always the case, we had an end of season swim party and the boys received trophys. There are always special awards given out and Braden received the Band-aid award. During practice, he scraped the bottom of the pool working on his dive....he has some great scars on his chest to prove it. Coach Liz gave him a special plaque. :) Such a great year for everyone!

On the Road Again....

Now we are back in the right order. :) Over Memorial Day weekend, Steve and I traveled to Knoxville, TN, with our DI team for Global Finals. We had a great time! We rented a car and took our two puppies with us...they are super travelers. We stopped at every welcome area in each state and decided that Mississippi has the best welcome areas for dogs. Global Finals was a fantastic time, and we are so proud of our DI team who placed 25th out of over 70 teams all over the world. We designed 4 Smurf pins to trade that traded so well...everyone wanted them! We also went horseback riding in the mountains which was fun. We had such a good time that we have decided to travel back to the area at the end of July with the whole family! On the way home, we stopped at a park on lookout mountain and at University of Alabama. We can't wait to go back!!!

 Duncan, almost 3 months

These were at the Mississippi rest area....Stirling and Duncan had a GREAT time chasing each other and playing around....at one point, Duncan decided to "walk" Stirling. :)

Their set up...they had the whole backseat and spent most of their time trying to both fit in the same bed....the smaller bed with that...silly puppy!

They were super comfortable.....they were so cute! :)

Logan Wins Another Award!

Bet you didn't know that Logan was such a great writer....First he wins the Texas History writing contest last year as a seventh grader, and this year he wins the Do the Write Thing challenge. The topic was on Bullying and Anti-Violence. Each student at Kleb submitted an essay and one boy and one girl was chosen from each school....Logan was the chosen boy! We were so proud!  We were invited to a very nice reception and lunch at Minute Maid Park. As soon as I can get my hands on his essay I will publish it so you can hear this thoughts on bullying, but in the meantime, here are some pictures from the event
