End of Season Swim Party

As is always the case, we had an end of season swim party and the boys received trophys. There are always special awards given out and Braden received the Band-aid award. During practice, he scraped the bottom of the pool working on his dive....he has some great scars on his chest to prove it. Coach Liz gave him a special plaque. :) Such a great year for everyone!

Meeting an Olympic Swimmer

Josh Davis, an Olympic swimmer, gave a clinic for the Killer Whales. He and Coach Liz were friends in high school. He taught the boys so many great tips for becoming a great swimmer. They really listened and improved tremendously over the summer. Thanks Josh Davis! One of the highlights of the clinic was the 50 yard freestyle race between Josh and some of our 15-18 boys. It was a close race and Josh won by a hair! He also took pictures with the kids and signed autographs. What a neat guy and such a fabulous opportunity for the boys.

Swim Team

The Bairds love to swim, and we love swim team. All three boys switched to the Wimbledon Killer Whales this year, and it was the best decision we ever made! They got to swim with their friends, Steve and I got to hang out and volunteer with our friends, and they got some FANTASTIC coaching! They grew so much as swimmers and we can't wait for next summer to do it all over again. Braden had a terrific year swimming in Summer Thunder, Pentathalon, and All Stars. He plans to swim year round with teamFINS starting in September! Nolan is no longer doggy paddling to breathe...and Logan got some of his best times ever. Logan plans to swim for Klein High School this year! I am so glad my boys love to swim....it is such great exercise and we have gotten to really get to know some fantastic people. Thanks Coach Liz for teaching us so much!!!
